Wooden blinds are a choice for people who appreciate the combination of elegance and chic with ethno climate. In a unique way, they emphasize the character of the window and give the rooms a unique atmosphere. They also work well in designer and minimalist interiors - dark wood species match the retro style, and lighter ones are used in an ecological and natural spirit. Around wooden blinds, however, there are many myths and misunderstandings about their installation, durability and care. This text will dispel your doubts about wooden blinds.

WOOD, WHICH IS NATURAL BEAUTY

Wooden blinds, apart from their obvious function of protecting rooms from light, are above all a great decoration. They are associated with nature, earth and create a unique atmosphere, which is intensified by the multitude of shades and emphasizing the rings on the slats. These blinds fit perfectly into rooms where wooden furniture or glass elements dominate. They also look great in window frames, especially when they fit into the whole composition of the room. Wooden blinds bring warmth and harmony to the interior.

CONSTRUCTION OF WOODEN BLINDS

The width of the wooden laths is between 25 and 50 mm. They effectively protect against the sun's rays, limiting the heating of interiors. The load-bearing structure of wooden blinds is similar to that of aluminium; it is usually twine or striped. The adjustment of slats, due to their weight, can be problematic for weaker people or children, so it is worth considering the installation of electric actuators. The thickness of the lamellas is usually min. Two millimetres.

CLEANING OF WOODEN BLINDS

When cleaning wooden blinds, remember that wood does not like moisture, so if possible, it is best to dry clean them, e.g. with a regular cloth, or with a wood cleaner. It is important to regularly remove dust from the blinds and avoid dust accumulation. However, if this is already the case, it is best to use lukewarm water with the addition of woodwash. Each individual blind should be wiped and dried, then sprayed with a wood polishing agent and wiped with a dry cloth. If the construction of the blinds allows it, but also the skills of the cleaner, it is possible to remove them completely from the window. The cleaning will then be quicker and more thorough.

ELEGANCE PRICE

Like any other solution, wooden blinds are not devoid of minor defects, although in fact these defects should be called "limitations". It is a natural product and, as such, is more prone to warping than plastic mouldings. Their color palette is also limited, but anyone who wants to decorate the interior in wood should be aware of this. These blinds are also susceptible to moisture, so they cannot be installed in places exposed to water.

WOODEN BLINDS VERSUS FABRIC ROLLER BLINDS

Anyone faced with the choice of a window cover will certainly not escape this dilemma. The most important advantages of fabric roller blinds are their unlimited colouring, which cannot be achieved with wood. It is also possible to choose the thickness of the material, which will regulate the transmission of sunlight. However, the angle of incidence of sunlight cannot be adjusted in fabric roller blinds. This possibility, offered by wooden blinds, will allow you to introduce a unique atmosphere into the interior of the room.

Fabric roller blinds are more universal and practical, but they do not have a "soul", which is certainly the case with wooden blinds. Although they require a little more care, the effect and mood they can create in the room is worth every effort.
